In a world shaped by magic and blessings dieties, known as Poems, three mismatched heroes find themselves in search of happiness.
The Story
Tales of Despina is a fantasy action-adventure comic set in a world where magic is as strong as your resolve. Dieties known as Poems rule over the world of Kinjaro and their Poets bless those who pledge to them with great power.
Three unlikely companions are drawn together by a destiny older than any written scripture. Their journey will test the limits of trust, power, and what it truly means to be happy.
Inspired by our Aztecan and Mayan roots, Despina's world blends Chicano culture, the importance of mental health, and the authors love for mythology.
The Poems never truly left. They simply stopped announcing themselves. And in the silence they left behind, something far older filled the void.

Primula's Prisoner

Carrying the weight of something they dare not speak aloud, Alyster moves through the world with a cold precision that hides something he desires. A war general of his nation now on a task to rebuild something he himself tore down with his flames.
The Hero
"Collected • Determined • Focused"
A skilled warrior trained under the King himself, AJ is the anchor of the team along with her best furry friend Sprinkles. Not having pledged to a Poem, Aj relys on her innate ingenuity to tackle her issues.
The World
Tol'Dara is a country shaped by it's war and harmony of it's people. At the edge lies Crown's Peak, scarred by an ancient war and guarded by a towering tree, AJ's quiet refuge she shares with a small community. Far off, in the skies of Fatës Zëphyr, monks ride flying capybaras, training in harmony led by Poet Odvn. Deep within the land, the Temple of Amor stands untouched, hidden in a magical forest where none return. And at the center of it all Vo'lundra pulses with life, a melting pot where magic and culture come together as one.
There is more to be discovered outside the country of Tol'Dara, but that is for our heroes to uncover.

I'm a Latino creative who's always had a love for manga and comics. I've been watching anime since I was a kid waking up at six in the morning every Saturday just to catch Dragon Ball Z! I like to draw in my free time, but writing stories has always been my real passion. Growing up, I wasn't allowed to show much emotion, so art became the way I expressed everything I felt. I genuinely believe everyone has creativity in them it just takes one leap of faith to let it out.
Traditional & Digital Artist
I'm a Mexican-American artist and I'm currently in my MFA at Otis College. Art has always been a part of me and I want to bring not only my cultural roots but also express what it means to be a Chicano in Los Angeles. I enjoy reading comic in my pass time with Batman and Superman comics being among my favorites!
